Van 1 after finish Eddie, Mike, Joel and Bons

Van 1

Horrible attempt to capture van 1 on film... Tom, Ed, Bons and Mike lost their heads

Finish line!

Van 1 finished just before 10 this morning and we've made our way to the finish line. Looks like we'll come in third out of 153...not too shabby!

home stretch

and it's only the start of march and phoenix is cooking us out on the
course. we've got just 3 more runners to go, and things are wrapping
up well. especially for the few lucky ones who have downhill legs -
all because of ben's generous 3.5 mile slog up a hot dusty catcus
garden. ole baby's

Ben muscling up a long, tough hill

Thanks, Ben for giving the rest of us some nice downhills.

2 down, 1 to go

the whole crew just finished their 2nd legs and spirits are up, way
up. a beautiful sunrise saw us making up a bit of time to almost catch
up with Tom's schedule- which seemed far too aggressive after our
first legs. we don't really know where the leading teams are on the
course, but we're putting out more smiles per hour than we planned
for, so were winning the run fo fun.
now what's for breakfast? more pb&j!

stage 11 & 23

Stage 11

7.6 miles in the desert at night is crazy. I got in the zone for most
of the run, then had to tough it out the last few with a good strong
kick at the end.

Stage 23

Running at dawn was spectacular. Short 2.9 miles (under speculation),
but almost all uphill. Lots of arm pumping to keep the legs turning
over.

Still have more left in the tank. But now it's van #1's turn.

Good morning, van 1
